All photos were taken during
the LP supercell near Shamrock, Texas. If they look grainy, it's
because I have a REALLY OLD P.O.S. camcorder (circa 1986).
Lightning strikes behind a tree less
than 1/4 mile away.
A CG hits about 4 miles away. If you
look carefully, you can see the glow and smoke plume of a
previous strike that started a fire.
Charles tries to photograph a
branched lightning strike about a mile away.
Another branched CG about a mile
away.
This CG came out of the rear end of
the rotating wall cloud, near the back edge of the clear
slot.
I just love it when lightning tears
out of a beautiful cloud structure like this.
